ATB Financial ATB Listens

New brand platform writing for a financial institution managing over $50B in assets

ATB Financial suffered from some of the same brand challenges faced by many banks. They were often perceived as impersonal, product-focused and bureaucratic.

But ATB’s leadership had invested heavily in core branding, generating robust story and behavioural assets to engage its team in authentic customer-centricity. Building on this work, the brand platorm ATB Listens was born, targeting a major pain point reported by customers.

The work put ATB’s customers in the spotlight, and activated across its communities in surprising and moving ways. The launch even included an original song and music video, written and produced by Ben Spencer.

This work comprised deep engagement with customer and industry research to help position Icona as a community partner and environmental advocate.

Icona Properties represents a fundamentally different approach to real estate development. We pursue transformations that truly enliven communities. Yellow Pencil Good people

New brand purpose and promise for a busy public sector-facting digital agency

This work began by crafting a deeper understanding of Yellow Pencil’s customers within the large, regulated, public-sector marketplace: generally mid-to-senior level civil servants. Buyers are still ultimately people, not organizations, and so we construed detailed personas in order to better understand the emotional journey around the buying decision. The work subsequently supported one of Yellow Pencil’s strongest sales periods in years.
